A little about me

The maker
behind the haus

I'm Lilli — originally from Alabama, now happily planted in Kansas City with my husband Max and our two cats, Fritz and Henry (yes, his name is Henry Henry). Max is from England, accent and all, which is funny, because I grew up adoring Pride and Prejudice and everything about British culture. God really does have a sense of humor like that.

I grew up on three acres in the country, right next door to my grandma, with horses, chickens, dogs, cats, and whatever creatures my dad — a biology teacher — happened to bring home that week. We spent our days outside: playing in the woods, hunting salamanders, nursing birds back to health after the cats got to them. It was a really beautiful childhood.

Henry Haus is my creative corner — the place where everything I love to make, find, grow, and bake lives under one roof. I believe the gifts God gives us are meant to be used to love the people around us. This is me trying to do exactly that.

Pull up a chair. Stay a while.

Where it all happens

The
actual haus

Henry Haus is named after our home — a 1920s craftsman in Kansas City that we've been slowly, intentionally making our own. The lace curtains, the cast iron on the stove, the fabric piled in the sewing room corner — it all lives here.

This site is an extension of that same spirit: everything in one place, made with care, and shared with anyone who wants a peek inside.
